Ongoing Creativity

When women crocheted, tatted, knit, weaved, and quilted they created something new, often useful and often beautiful. Together with their own personal pleasure as they sewed and the practical value of a quilt, they added beauty to the life of their family and community. As beings within the unfolding story, we can have confidence that we can add beauty in many ways as we share in the qualities of the vast creative whole as they are expressed by a person or a community. There is much yet to unfold as creativity is expressed in innumerable ways, as in music, art, care of another and social witness. Our creativity and our freedom must be realized in a manner that does not destroy but enhances the ongoing viability of the planet.
