My husband loved ferns and could identify many of them with their Latin name. He was a member of the Fern Society at the Bronx Botanical Garden. Ferns are an ancient order of plants that have no flowers or seeds. The fern comes up in the spring as a curious fiddlehead that then unfolds into a frond.
